Last updated: April 2, 2026

Dock Watch ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Dock Watch mobile application and website at dockwatch.app. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our services.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information:

  • Account information: Your name, email address, and password when you register.
  • Profile information: Company name, role (driver or shipper/receiver), and any optional profile details you provide.
  • Usage data: Facility searches, check-ins, ratings, reviews, and dock notes you submit.
  • Location data: With your permission, approximate location to show nearby facilities. We do not continuously track your location.
  • Device information: Device type, operating system, and app version for technical support purposes.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

3. Information Shared With Others

Ratings, reviews, and dock notes you submit are visible to other Dock Watch users. Your name or username may be shown alongside your contributions. Facility operators (shippers/receivers) who claim their listing can see reviews associated with their facility.

We use Amazon Web Services (AWS) for infrastructure and data storage. We use Firebase (Google) for push notifications. These providers are bound by their own privacy policies and our data processing agreements.

4. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Facility reviews and dock notes may remain visible after account deletion in anonymized form to preserve the accuracy of community-contributed data, unless you request full removal (see Section 6).

5. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and secure credential storage. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data (see Section 6)
