Claiming Your Location — Business Portal

What Does Claiming a Location Do?

Claiming your location on Dock Watch links your business account to your facility's listing. Once approved, your listing will show a Verified & Insured badge to every driver who views it. This tells drivers the information is accurate and managed by a real person.


Starting the Claim

  1. Go to Locations in the left sidebar.
  2. Click Find and Claim Location.
  3. You'll enter a 4-step wizard.

Step 1: Search for Your Location

Type your company name, city, or address in the search bar. Results appear as you type.

  • If your facility is in the Dock Watch database, it will appear in the list.
  • Click your location to select it and move to Step 2.

If your location shows "Claimed": Someone else from your organization may have already claimed it. Click the result and you'll see a Request Access option — use this to request manager access instead of submitting a new claim. See Requesting Manager Access below.


Step 2: Confirm Your Location

Review the facility name and address. If everything looks right, click Yes, this is my location →.

If it's not the right one, click Back to search and try again.


Step 3: Upload Your Certificate of Insurance (COI)

Upload a document that verifies your connection to the facility. Accepted documents:

To upload:

  1. Drag your file into the upload area, or click to browse your computer.
  2. Accepted formats: PDF, JPG, PNG — max 20 MB.
  3. Once uploaded, click Continue →.

Step 4: Review and Submit

Review the summary (location + uploaded document), then click Submit Claim.

Two possible outcomes:

  • Approved immediately — Your listing is verified. The Verified & Insured badge is now active. Click Go to My Location to start managing it.
  • Under review — Our team will review your COI document and email you the outcome, typically within 24 hours. You can check the status from the Locations page.

Requesting Manager Access

If your facility has already been claimed by a colleague, you can request to be added as a manager:

  1. Find the facility in the claim wizard (Step 1).
  2. Click the Claimed result — a Request Access modal will appear.
  3. Enter your title/role at the facility (e.g., Dock Manager, Operations Supervisor).
  4. Add an optional message to explain your role (max 200 characters).
  5. Click Send Access Request.

The location owner will be notified and can approve or deny your request from the COI & Team section of their account. Once approved, you'll be able to view and manage the location.

Managers can view the location but cannot upload new COI documents — only the primary owner can do that.


After Your Claim Is Approved

Once verified, go to Locations → Manage Location to:

  • Edit your business name, address, phone number
  • Add amenities and facility rules
  • Upload photos
  • Manage dock contacts
  • View driver reviews
