COI & Team

COI & Team — Business Portal

Getting There

Go to Locations → Manage Location → COI & Team in the sidebar.

Certificate of Insurance (COI)

Your COI is what activates the Verified & Insured badge on your listing. Drivers use this badge to identify facilities that have been vetted by Dock Watch.

Viewing Your Current COI

If a COI is on file, you'll see:

  • Status badge: Active (green), Expiring Soon (yellow, within 30 days), or Expired (red)
  • Carrier name
  • Policy number
  • Effective and expiration dates
  • Coverage amounts: General Liability, Auto Liability, Cargo Insurance, Umbrella (if applicable)
  • View Document link — opens your COI document in a new tab

Uploading a New COI

Click Upload New COI, then:

  1. Drag your document into the upload area or click to browse.
  2. Accepted formats: PDF, JPG, PNG — max 20 MB.
  3. Preferred format: ACORD 25 Certificate of Insurance.
  4. Click Upload COI.

Our system automatically extracts coverage details from the document. If anything looks incorrect after upload, contact support at dwsupport@dockwatch.app.

Only the primary account owner can upload COI documents. Team members (managers) cannot.

When Does the Badge Expire?

The Insured badge stays active as long as your COI is not expired. You'll see a yellow "Expiring Soon" warning 30 days before the expiration date — that's your cue to upload a new one.

Team Members

Team members are additional people from your organization who have access to manage your location listing.

Approving Access Requests

When someone from your team requests manager access through the Dock Watch app or business portal, their request appears in the Team Requests section with a red badge showing the count.

Each request shows:

  • Requester's name and email
  • Their title/role (if they provided it)
  • A note explaining their connection to your facility (if they provided one)

To approve: click Approve. They'll gain immediate access. To deny: click Deny. They'll be notified.

Viewing Current Team Members

All approved team members are listed below the COI section. Each entry shows their name and email.

Removing a Team Member

Click the trash icon next to a team member's name. A confirmation dialog will appear. Click Remove to confirm.

Removing a team member immediately revokes their access to your location.

What Can Team Members Do?

Team members (managers) can:

  • View and edit location info (name, address, amenities, rules, photos)
  • View driver reviews
  • Manage contacts

Team members cannot:

  • Upload or replace COI documents
  • Approve or deny other team member requests
